Jolén's Birthday & more...
Today was Jolén's 30th Birthday. This morning, I awoke to a dream that I was only 6 yrs. old again and holding Jolén in my arms, feeding her a bottle. We were in an old blue rocking chair Mom used to have a set of back at that time. I still remember when I was first taken to the Hospital by her Dad, Larry so that I could see her and Mom. At the viewing area where you can see the newborn babies, another girl pointed at Jolén and tried to say that it was her Sister. I immediately looked right at that little girl next to me and I said, "That's MY Sister and she's Beautiful!" very proudly.
The other girl was speechless and confused as far as I recall so that was the end of that.
I heard from a good friend back in Wisconsin on Facebook tonite. She wrote to me about how she and a friend had given their 2 weeks notice to UHC and then went to work at Great Lakes. They were let go. I wrote back a nice letter explaining some things. It went as follows...
OH that's awful! Can you get unemployment to hold you over for a bit?
Gosh, I still wish I had not left in a way. At least I did it right when I gave my 2 weeks in June of '08. Here's what's ironic. I work for a Company called Aegis (sounds like "ages") and we're a 3rd Party Vendor. I'm on the phone handling Customer Service Calls. Guess who my Client is? The same one you gave 2 weeks notice too. I field Customer Service calls for Enrollees of Secure Horizons of Ovations. I handle the AARP MedicareComplete Plans. I work on the MA side and there are people cross training for PDP so they can keep their jobs longer. I get to quote plan benefits and explain things to the members. I have to do most of my work in iBAAG. I also have to pull up HICNs in GPS to find people who are not sure if they are with us. I also have to look at Claims in iLEAD & IDT to explain what's going on with those too. If the EE gets mad and disputes the claim, it's an Appeal so I have to give them their Appeal rights and also the A&G address. I get complaints and then I have to do Grievances too. It boils down to my strong desire to come back and get my old job back. I liked it there much better than what I do now. I think the stress here in the call center is worse and plus having to work on the phones. At least there, I only talked on the phones to do mentoring with the Team and occasionally talk to Dawn and Jana when they were our Sups. I don't know. It was actually great here in Florida for a while but now not so much. My car I used to have went bye bye to the junk yard on February last year. It got totalled out by my Insurance carrier at the time, Geico. I got rear ended on Biscayne Blvd. by some college kid with failed brakes. Two Police cars drove right by without helping. I didn't have my cell phone either. I wish I had gotten that kid's Insurance Info, then my Insurance company could have received capitation from his Insurance to help me :-( I'm employed but it's Temporary and they start layoffs next month. I decided I'm going to try brushing up on my Math to see if I can pass the College placement test. I'm going to work on my FAFSA shortly and I hope to get registered for classes this Fall. I'd like to begin in Nursing School at IRSC. I'm going to go for my Associates in Registered Nursing, then work towards a Bachelor of Science in RN. Then I'm going to try working in ER when I get confident enough and also ICU including Pediatric ICU. Once I'm more comfortable and confident in that, I'll work towards my CRNA or ARNP. I have a very long Road ahead but I may digress from my path along the way. I just have to get started so I know what I am doing. Can you remind me who's Cappy? I'm sorry, it's been awhile & I realised I can't seem to remember everybody from back there right now. Write back soon. Love Ya!!
Tonite at home, I made Spaghetti Tacos again. It was great. I used some Linguine noodles along with the Thick Spaghetti noodles to make a variety. I also made some desert which was Cookie Brownies. They turned out very moist and delicious. It took 2 sticks of Butter but it was worth it.
