The last time I was at PetSuperMarket, I faced an interesting dilemma. I realised it would not be a good idea to switch back to the clay based Cat Litter that I used for a decade since it is mined from the earth but often does not do well when disposed of. It does not seem to break down well. I had switched to litter that is corn based and it has a much shorter life than the clay litter. I decided to switch to a wheat based cat litter instead. Since I have barely switched, I do not yet have a reasonable critique of the product. I did the switch because I am trying to use more Ecologically friendly products. I find that some Cat Litter is biodegradeable & recycled while the packaging itself does not specifically say if it is recyclable or that it can be recycled. I no longer purchase the clay based litter in plastic containers. There is 1 brand of litter that is both biodegradeable & reclyclable as well as the packaging, also made from recycled materials. I plan to experiment with this litter in the future but for now I have lots of the wheat based litter to try. It's supposed to manage odors better than the other types of litter that I have used. We'll see.
