Today, around 2 pm Central Daylight Savings time, my Uncle Tom P. Mitchell died near the Wisconsin Dells by the airport at Baraboo, Wisconsin, during a test flight of a plane he had just bought. The wings fell off 1 at a time. He had just returned from Iraq on Saturday, October 30th, 2010. Everyone was happy & looking forward to seeing him again after 9 months of duty served.
I just got done with my first day of Training class at Aegis, my current employer for my temporary job here in Port St. Lucie. Ironically, our client is United Health Group. They are changing their name back to United Health Care or UHC now. Plus, the group under UHC is Ovations, also who I worked for at the Eau Claire, Wi. corporate Offices. I'm handling Secure Horizons insurance enrollees over the phone starting next month. I also did that except as Enrollment Reconciliation with zero contact with Enrollees.
I didn't even want to get on the computer tonite but with such awful news, I felt a responsibility to report this extremely unfair and unfortunate death in the family.
I called my Sister Jolen immediately after hearing my Mom's voicemail. I had stopped in to Walmart to pick up a few things. I drove to the location on W St. Lucie West Boulevard since it's so close.
I was strong while I spoke to Jolen and told her at least Uncle Tom died doing what he loved which was flying. He flew reconnaissance missions by Helicopter overseas and most recently in Iraq as I mentioned.
I loved my Uncle very much and now I will always miss him without the option to see or speak to him ever again. I hope to join him in Heaven at GOD'S feet.
